- I
have uploaded my site but it does not load in?
This is usually one of two things, either your domain name has not had time to
propagate on our name servers (i.e. if you have registered or transferred your
domain name within the last 48 hours, or you have not labeled your home page (start
page) index.htm Top
- I have forgotten
by password what do I do?
If you have forgotten your
password you will need to contact technical support via e-mail, quoting your customer
ID number and your password will be sent to you. Top
- Can I run my
own cgi scripts?
Yes we allow users to run their own
scripts, however we can not offer free support on these, as you will appreciate
scripts can be very complex and time consuming. If you require custom scripts
written please contact technical support via email with your requirements. Our
programmers consultancy rates are £ 40 per hour. Top

What
is the path to perl? This is not relevant as we use Windows
NT servers. We have the latest addition of Active state perl installed on the
servers. Top
- How do I get
my cgi scripts to work?
If you are using Perl your scripts
extension should be .PL, and your scripts must be placed in the cgi-bin directory. Top
- Do you support
CGI?
Yes we support cgi. Every account setup has its
own personal cgi directory. Top
- I uploaded
my site yesterday and cannot find it.?
Name servers usually
take 48 hours to propagate, therefore even though you are able to upload your
site to our servers it will not be visible on the world wide web until the name
servers have been updated. Top
- Can I have
two Domain names mapped to my site?
You can have as many
names as you like mapped to your account, as long as they are all displaying the
same site. A charge of £10 per additional domain name is charged if names
are being transferred from other ISPs. If you register the names with us this
fee is included in the price. Top
- When I type
in my domain name I see a list of my files?
If this happens
it is because you have not named your start page index.htm Top
- Why do my pictures
show up as broken icons?
This will occur either because
when you uploaded your site the images were not uploaded, or because the exact
path of the images in the html code of your pages is not correct. I.e. http://yourname.co.uk/images/fred.gif Top
- Do you support
ASP?
Yes our servers support asp which is a powerful
tool for creating dynamic pages and connecting to ODBC databases. Top
- Can I upgrade
my account?
Yes you can upgrade your account to the
Pro account, just contact technical support via email. Top
- What is email
forwarding?
Email forwarding allows all emails sent
to your domain name to be transparently forwarded to your existing email address.
I.e. sales@yourname.co.uk to fred.smith@aol.com Top
- Should I keep
a copy of my website?
You should always keep a back-up
of your website, should a hardware fault occur on one of our servers, or you inadvertently
delete part or all of your website. Top
- I can't access
my website is the server down?
Our servers have proved
to be extremely reliable in the past, so the first thing to check is your ISP.
This can easily be checked, by logging onto the Internet using a different ISP.
(Their are many free ones, and it always pays to have at least two separate Internet
service providers). If you can still not access your site, either our servers
are down, or one of the routers which connect the network are down. If one of
the servers are down you can contact technical support who will check. They will
however probably be aware of any problems and be working on it. Top |
